In support of a release announcement (or, Pimp your diagrams package)
Yesterday afternoon version 0.2 of Diagrams was released to an expectant and adoring public. I had a small hand in getting it through the door, though I feel rather guilty that I had to bow out to go eat ham cooked in Coke followed by poffertjes in Mars bar chocolate sauce. Many thanks to Matt for the great meal.
Sorry, got distracted by thoughts of food there! Like I said, next increment with Diagrams. Well done to Brent for publishing another version. It now officially supports paths, text, and the extensive Colour package released by Russell O’Connor. There have been a few bug fixes, there are more examples, and even the rudiments of a test framework.
Now there is greater motivation to:
- Use the features that exist to create actual applications rather than toy examples. Yes, word clouds are great but there is a limit to how many a normal person can eat in a day. I have a couple of things in my mind. Watch this space, or one very like it.
- Drive development further by pushing the limits of what we can do right now. Brent has visions of shapes with anchors than can be linked up with arrows and such. As long as it keeps to that elegant declarative style that exists now I think this package can be a real winner.
