Yes, that’s steak and yes it was good.
Pretty soon now, Helen should be putting up photos of last night’s tea. It was just as good when we finished it off with mayonnaise for lunch today. This evening we had pasta and salad with broccoli leaves in it, which was also pretty fabulous.
In other news, I was very annoyed to find that Apple had intentionally broken DAAP compatibility with other music players when they released iTunes 7. I had a brief moment of delight when I realised I could communicate with Helen’s laptop for music exchanging fun — only to realise that I couldn’t. So I have resorted to using mpd instead, because it’s awesome.
What’s the advantage of MPD over something that just runs DAAP? It looks neat but I don’t think it uses DAAP which seems a little strange.
It’s extremely irritating that Apple broke DAAP after been so kind as to provide it. Open implementations can still talk to one another (and iTunes can still read from them) though so it’s not a total loss.
Yeah, Apple broke DAAP so I’m using MPD cos it only takes a lightweight client on Helen’s laptop and then she can control the music on my machine from anywhere in the house. It’s easier than flicking switches or moving cables on the stereo…
Ah, that’s fair enough. I’m sure I’d probably end up writing some kind of web interface in a bout of NIH, but that’s nothing to be proud of :D
